The golden arts innovation award will be handed to Khaleqi in a ceremony in Tawar Hall, Sulaymaniyah, on Thursday at 17.00, said Nawzad Ahmed, chief of the literary center.

Khaleqi is the second singer after Hawrami singer Othman Kemanayi to be honored by the center.

A documentary about Khaleqi's life and works will be screened for the audience, the chief said.

Galawezh Center will also publish a book which contains the important photos of the singer, AK News reported.    

The singer appreciated Galawezh Center for honoring him and said he hopes to deserve the prize.

Kamo Jamal who has directed the documentary about Khaleqi said that the film is dubbed a "Nature of Melody" where some artists and personalities comment on Khaleqi's life and works.
