US special representative visits Syrian Kurdistan, meets SDF, YPG
The US Special Presidential Envoy to the anti-Islamic State (IS) coalition, Brett McGurk reportedly traveled on Wednesday to the Syrian Kurdistan to meet with local military officials and review the latest developments in the region.

According to BasNews the influential US official has met with the commanders from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).

Accompanied by a delegation, McGurk arrived in Ain Issa on Tuesday, also holding talks with the Raqqa Civilian Assembly which was formed to govern Raqqa after the liberation of the city from the IS.

His trip to the Kurdish region comes after the meetings he held with top Kurdistan Region officials earlier the week in Erbil. He later visited the liberated areas in the south of Mosul.

However, the outcomes of the meetings are yet to be revealed to media.
