Withdrawing confidence from Maliki impossible: official
Arbil- Kurdish Iraqi second parliament speaker Aref Tayfor said on Tuesday that it is impossible to vote Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki out of office as the bid to withdrawing him is no longer backed by most parties.

Underlining that only Kurds ad some parliament deputies from main opposition Iraqiya List support the bid, Tayfur said it is impossible to withdraw vote of trust from the premier.

He further noted that Sadr Movement, which backed Kurdistan Alliance and Iraqiya List in the withdrawing attempt, “was not serious from the beginning and when the time for withdrawing confidence came, it draw back.”

This is the first statement of a Kurdish official who announces the failure of Maliki’s rivals in unseating him.

Iraqyia and Kurdistan Alliance are now trying to prepare grounds for interrogating Maliki over “violating constitution” and hope to collect needed votes of non-confidence to oust Maliki from power, an attempt that Sadr Movement has already announced would not support.
