Iran backs Syria reforms: Parliament Speaker
Tehran- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, who received his Syrian Counterpart Muhammad Jihad al-Laham, said on Tuesday that Iran supports made reforms in Syria.

“Iran and Syria have always enjoyed deep ties and we count on Syria in facing Israel,” Larijani said in a joint conference with al-Laham.

“Syria current situation is bi-dimensional. One relates to ongoing reform in the country and the other is the conspiracy against Syria to weaken its fight against Israel,” Larijani commented on the country’s current political situation.

Al- Laham, in turn, appreciated Iran’s stance in the face of developments in Syria at a time that it is “facing political, military and propaganda pressures.”

Denying Syria military attack on its people, he said “America, its allies and their hired media are trying to picture Syrian victor army as killing and massacring its people.”

He further lashed out at some regional countries such as Qatar for becoming America’s tool and homing its military bases to arm rebel forces in order to kill people.

AL- Laham, however, appreciated Iran, Russia and china for their deep consideration of Syria developments as “they are aware of the ongoing big conspiracy in the country.”

The Syrian official had earlier met Iran’s Secretary of Supreme National Council, Saeed Jalili, on Tuesday afternoon when Al- Laham stressed on improving ties between the two countries.

The Syria Parliament Speaker arrived in Tehran early on Tuesday to meet Iranian officials.
