Two Syria Kurdish cities are besieged by ISIS: PYD spokesman tells Kurdpress
The spokesman of the military branch of Syria Pro- Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) said two Syrian Kurdish cities of Kobani and Efrin are besieged by the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) forces.

Not only Kobani but Efrin is besieged economically and providing needed stuff for the cities is difficult for our forces, Ridur Khalil told Kurdpress in an exclusive interview.

He further added the ISIS forces are taking control of the Kurdish towns of Gerki Spi and Gerki Leki but the surrounding villages are controlled by PYD forces, he added.

Answering a question about the abduction of more than 300 Kurds by ISIS forces, Khalil told Kurdpress that 117 persons have been freed and returned to their homes but they have no information about the fate of the rest of those who were kidnapped by the Islamist group in the last week.

The PYD spokesman further added clashes between the forces of his party and the extremist group has dwindled due to tough winter weather, denying the halt of clashes been the two is related to the upcoming Geneva II conference on January 22 next year.

Khalil also said there is not practically a Free Syria Army (FSA) in Syria but the jihadist groups have increased in the past months.
