US-led coalition sends 150 trucks of military shipment to SDF: monitor

The US-led Coalition on Sunday delivered another military shipment to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northeast Syria as part of its ongoing efforts to counter terror in the area.

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said at least 150 trucks loaded with military and logistic hardware entered the SDF-controlled areas in east Euphrates.
According to the monitoring group, the US-led Coalition has delivered 2,750 trucks of military assistance to the SDF since they announced the victory over IS in the east of Euphrates in late March 2019, BasNews reported.
The delivery comes a day after the US forces conducted a joint patrol with the Turkish troops in East Euphrates to prepare the ground for the establishment of a long-promised ‘safe zone’.
Turkey pushes for removing the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), which makes up the majority of the SDF, from northern Syria bordering Turkey. Ankara sees the Kurdish allies of Washington as a threat to its national security.
