Iran, Russia, Turkey FMs to meet on Syria in March

The foreign ministers of Iran, Russia and Turkey will have a meeting on Syria in Kazakhstan’s Astana in March, the TASS news agency quoted Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov as saying on Monday.

Bogdanov said the meeting in March will be focused on de-escalation areas in Syria, adding that Moscow supports Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to IRNA he confirmed the possibility of extending the already made agreements on de-escalation areas, while saying the situations will determine the future actions.

Moscow has always stressed that creating de-escalation areas is a temporary measure to pave the way for a more appropriate condition to settle the crisis in Syria and implement the provisions of the UNSC Resolution 2254, Bogdanov said.
