    Demirtas refutes HDP’s offer to be its presidential candidate

    Jailed Kurdish politician Selahattin Demirtas has said he is not legally eligible to run for the presidency, turning down a proposal from the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) to be its presidential candidate in the May 14 presidential election, according to a statement from the party.
