Kurdistan Region calls for an end to PKK violations

The Kurdistan Region's Peshmerga ministry called on Iraq's allies to help stop the violations of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the region.

In an official statement, the Peshmerga said on Tuesday that a member of the their forces was killed in the Sharanish area in the Drakar district of Zakho , adding that the "continuous PKK attacks" had also left one of their leaders, Radwan Muhammad Ali, dead.
"The Peshmerga ministry strongly condemns and denounces such actions that are ultimately in the interest of the enemies and haters of our people," the statement read.
The Kurdish army called on the Iraqi government and its allies "to play their role in stopping the violations of the PKK terrorist organisation, and to protect the border areas in the region."
"Peshmerga forces will be at the level of the great responsibility entrusted to them in protecting the cities, villages and land of the Kurdistan region," the army added.
