Britian stresses on continued support for Iraq and Kurdistan Region

British High Military Adviser stressed, in a meeting with the president of the Kurdistan Region, on the need and importance of continuing British cooperation and support for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

According to Kurdistan 24 TV channel, Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region, met with General John Lorimer, the Supreme Military Adviser to the British government on Wednesday, November 26.
During the meeting, which was attended by the British Ambassador to Iraq, Steven Hickey, the situation in Iraq and the Kurdish region and the necessity and importance of cooperation and coordination and work to maintain peace and stability in the region were discussed.
General Lorimer emphasized on the continued cooperation and support of the United Kingdom for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and praised the cooperation and joint work with the Kurdistan Region.
Nechirvan Barzani also praised British support for the Kurdish region and wished General Lorimer success.
The latest developments in the fight against terrorism and the ISIS, the relations between Erbil and Baghdad and the talks to resolve the problems between the two governments, the adoption of the law to compensate the budget deficit in the Iraqi parliament, the security situation in the Kurdistan region and several other important issues were discussed in the meeting.
The briefing was held on the occasion of the end of General Lorimer's duties in the Kurdish region.
