Mazlum Kobani said that the key to peace in the Middle East is in the hands of Abdullah Ocalan.
On the 23rd anniversary of the ouster of Abdullah Ocalan from Syria and the beginning of his arrest, Kobani wrote in a post on his webpage that "Abdullah Ocalan, the Kurdish leader and thinker, is the founder of the idea of free coexistence. The key to resolving the Kurdish problem, and achieving peace in the Middle East is in his hands. Ocalan's release will bring lasting peace. We want freedom for Ocalan now."
A Kurdish politician and theorist and the founder of the PKK, Ocalan was expelled from Syria twenty-three years ago on October 9, 1998, and shortly after various countries refused to accept him, he was arrested on February 15, 1999 in an operation in Kenya was transferred to Turkey, where he has been held under tight security in the Imrali Island Prison since that day.
