People in Syrian Kurdistan support Biden presidency, official says

During Donald Trump presidency, three important cities in Syrian Kurdistan (Afrin, Gri Spi and Sari Kani) were occupied by Turkey, which is why Kurdish people want president-elect Biden to become US president, said a member of the North and East Syrian Autonomous Administration in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.

"The United States is an institutionalized country with a clear political doctrine, but in Trump's time, three important cities in Syrian Kurdistan (Afrin, Gri Spi and Sari Kani) were occupied by Turkey," Fathullah Hosseini, a member of the North and East Syrian Authority in Kurdistan Region told KurdPress.
He continued: "People in Syrian Kurdistan want Biden to become next US President."
Mr. Husseini further added: "Biden's relationship with Turkey is not good and the worse the US president's relationship with Turkey, the better it will be for Kurds."
Biden's arrival could change the balance of power in the Middle East and prevent Turkey from further encroaching on the north and east of Syria," the member of the North and East Syrian Autonomous Administration in Iraqi Kurdistan also told KurdPress.
Fathullah Hosseini noted: "We are optimistic about cooperating with Biden and we want US assistance to Syrian Kurdistan to continue."
