Masrour Barzani hopes Erbil-Baghdad disputes would be resolved

Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said on Thursday, October 21, that he hopes that the results of the Iraq’s parliamentary elections will help to solve the outstanding disputes between Baghdad and Erbil and bring stability to the country.

Barzani made the comments during a meeting with UK Ambassador to Iraq Mark Bryson-Richardson and discussed the state of the country following the elections and strengthening the relations between the countries, according to a statement from the prime minister’s office.
The pair also discussed reforms at the KRG Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs, confronting the threats of Islamic State (ISIS), and the importance of implementing Sinjar agreement and normalizing the area.
