Turkey is seeking to occupy another part of Syrian Kurdistan: official

A member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Syria (KDPS) said: Turkey has occupied Afrin, Serikani and Gri Spi under the pretext of fighting the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and is seeking to occupy other parts of Syrian Kurdistan.

Referring to Erdogan's new threats against Syrian Kurdistan Abdul Rahman Apo, a member of the Central Committee of the Syrian Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDPS), told Kurdpress in an interview that "it is clear that Turkey is an aggressor and is making every effort to destroy and strike at the Kurds."

He continued: Turkey occupied Afrin, Serikani and Gri Spi under the pretext of fighting against the PKK and seeks to occupy other parts of Syrian Kurdistan.

"This is only an excuse and there will be war in the areas that are occupied and in addition to murdering and killing, demographic change will take place and their natural resources will be looted," he further added.

He noted: "Turkey's recent threats against the Kurds are a plan between the Turkish government and the Syrian government to hand over the Kurdish areas of Syria to Turkey and pave the way for halting the liberation of the Kurds in the future."

The KDPS Central Committee member said: "Turkey seeks to cut off ties between the Kurdish regions of Syria. First it was in Afrin, then they were Seri Kani and Gri Spi, and today it is Shahba and tomorrow it would seek to occupy other parts of Kurdistan."

Abdul Rahman Apo underlined: "It is necessary for the Kurds in Syria to unite and prepare for any possibility."
