Kirkuk Arab Coalition Spokesman expresses opposition to talks on ousting governor

The spokesman for the Arab Coalition in Kirkuk province stressed that Rakan Jabouri, the acting governor of Kirkuk, would remain in office and that the coalition was against any kind of negotiation on the issue.

"The governor of Kirkuk will remain in office in the current difficult situation, because the province needs him to remain in this position in terms of security and administration," Hatem Taee was quoted by al-Maelomeh news agency as saying.

Taee denied the existence of any negotiations with the Kurdish movements over introducing a new governor in the current situation in exchange for receiving political concessions.

It is worth mentioning that Rakan Jabouri, the acting governor of Kirkuk, was able to enter the Iraqi parliament in the recent parliamentary elections. Meanwhile, the Kurdish movements stress on the re-assignment of a Kurd to the post.
