Mashaan Jabouri: Zebari would be Iraq's president and a Sadr member will be the PM

A member of the Azim Faction in the new Iraqi parliament said that the Iraqi presidency would be handed over to Hoshyar Zebari and the prime minister would be a Sadr Movement member.

According to Ert News, Mashan Jabouri wrote in a tweet: The first session of the parliament ended with the election of Mohammad Halbousi as the speaker of the parliament, and in the second session, Hoshyar Zebari will be elected president.
Zebari is a leading member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).
Jabouri added: "The candidate nominated by the Sadr Movement for the post of Prime Minister of Iraq will win the vote of confidence from the parliament, and according to statistics, about 200 deputies will abide by the agreements reached by their leaders."
It should be noted that according to a political custom in Iraq, after the fall of Saddam's regime, the Iraqi presidency will be handed over to the Kurds, and among the Kurds, the Iraqi presidency will be a member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Region president will be headed by a Kurdistan Democratic Party member.
Recently, however, the KDP, while announcing its opposition to the re-election of Barham Salih as President of Iraq, has nominated Hoshyar Zebari, a senior member of the party, for the post.
