PUK demands a united, stable Iraq and a strong government: official

A member of the political bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) stressed that the party wants a stable, united Iraq and the establishment of a strong government in the country.

According to the Xendan news site, Saadi Ahmad Pira, in a meeting with Nejat Valobolqasem, the spokesman and former Minister of Higher Education of France, who traveled to Erbil, thanked Paris for its support of the Iraqi Kurds at various historical times, especially against the threats of Saddam's Ba'athist regime.

The member of the PUK Political Bureau also praised French humanitarian aid for the development of the region and expressed hope that relations between the party and the French Social Democratic Party would expand.

Regarding the current situation in Iraq, he stressed that the PUK wants a united and stable Iraq and the establishment of a strong government in the country.

Nejat Valobolqasem also referred to the role of the late Secretary General of the PUK, Jalal Talabani, in advancing the Kurdish liberation struggle, calling the role as very effective.
