Novel by Selahattin Demirtas translated and published in Kurdish Sorani dialect

The novel Afsoon by Selahattin Demirtas, the former leader of Turkey pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), was translated into Kurdish Sorani dialect by Farhad Chomani.

The novel Afsoon (Enchantment) by Selahattin Demirtas was translated by Choumani. The book signing ceremony was held by the translator at Ashti Library in Erbil.

According to Rojnews, Farhad Choumani, said about the book: "Writing in prison is not an easy task. Demirtas tries not to give up the struggle and aspirations of the Kurdish people even in prison. This is Demirtas's fourth novel written in prison. Writing a book in prison is very different from writing outside. We support the work and the efforts of the writers who are in prison."

"This novel is a social novel with a love theme that tells the love story of two young people," said Farhad Choumani, who said that Afsoon is the main character of the novel.

It is worth mentioning that Selahattin Demirtas, who has been imprisoned in Edirne Prison since November 4, 2016, has so far written 4 novels: Sahar, Doran, Leylan and Afsoon in prison. These novels narrate stories about the life of the Kurdish people in Turkey Kurdistan. Afsoon is Demirtas's latest novel, which was published last October by Deepnot Publishing House in Turkey.
