Mohammad Haji Mahmoud re-elected as Kurdistan Social Democratic Party Secretary General

Mohammad Haji Mahmoud was re-elected as the secretary general of the Kurdistan Social Democratic Party during the party's seventh congress.

According to NRT TV, the 7th Congress of the Kurdistan Social Democratic Party was held in Erbil on Saturday, during which a proposal to change the name of the party to the Kurdistan Social Democratic Party was presented, and the participants decided to change the logo and slogan of the party.

Adel Mullah Saleh, spokesman for the party's seventh congress, announced that the one-day congress was attended by more than a thousand party members.

He also said that in this congress, the position of party secretary general was changed to the party leader and a deputy was appointed to manage the affairs of the party in the absence of the party leader.

He announced that in this congress, Mohammad Haji Mahmoud was re-elected as the secretary general of the party and his brother Abdullah Mahmoud was re-elected as the deputy secretary general with the resignation of other rivals.

The congress will elect 39 members of the leadership and 11 members of the party's political bureau.
