Iranian president hopes Iraq would see a powerful government soon

Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi expressed hope that the political process of the recent parliamentary elections in Iraq would end as soon as possible with the formation of a strong and powerful government.

According to the Presidential Information Center, Ayatollah Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi held a phone talk on Wednesday, May 4, with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi and congratulated the Iraqi government and the people on Eid al-Fitr and wished health and security to the Iraqi people.

The President said in the call made by the Iraqi side: "Cohesion and unity in Iraq has always been emphasized by the Islamic Republic of Iran and I hope the political process of the recent parliamentary elections in Iraq will end as soon as possible with the formation of a strong and powerful government."

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, for his side, thanked Iran for its support of Iraq and congratulated the Iranian resident and the Iranian people on Eid al-Fitr.
