US base of Ain al-Assad in Iraq attacked

Reports indicate that the US base at Ain al-Assad in Anbar, Iraq, was attacked by Grad missiles.

According to IRNA, informed sources said on Monday night that the attack was carried out with a 122 mm Grad missile. Some sources say six rockets hit near the Ain al-Assad base. Field sources close to the incident also said that two missiles hit the southern gate of Ain al-Assad base and three missiles hit the base's area. Columns of fire and smoke could be seen inside the US base of Ain al-Assad from al-Sahil in al-Baghdadi region.
US drones and helicopters have also been reported flying over the al-Baghdadi area. Media outlets close to the resistance groups in Iraq have stated that spy flights and AWACS "Center 3" were observed on al-Hashd al-Shabi units stationed near the American base.
Iraqi sources also said that the "State Resistance" group claimed responsibility for the attack.
