KDP sets condition for joining new government in Baghdad
An Iraqi MP from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) bloc the KDP’s precondition on joining the federal government in Baghdad was that the federal government not violate the rights of the Kurdistan Region.

Sharif Suleiman told Anadolu Agency on Thursday, June 23, that the KDP wants the trouble between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to be resolved according to the constitution.
He said in order to put an end to the disputes between the Iraqi parties, the blocs have to meet and hold discussions.
Suleiman also said the KDP has started discussions with the Coordination Framework, which is expected to be appointed to form the new government.
A political source close to the party said the KDP will participate in forming a new government in Baghdad if the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court verdict on the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) oil contracts is suspended.
The KDP has allegedly requested that Iraqi President Barham Salih not to be nominated for president again.
