Reason behind Khor Mor missile attacks still unknown: deputy PM

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Qubad Talabani, said on Saturday, June 25, the purpose of the recent missile attacks on Khor Mor gas field was still unknown.

Talabani said the authorities in the Kurdistan Region were waiting for the results of an investigation into the incidents.
Talabani announced to the media on Saturday the attacks had caused no loss of life or material damage, NRT reported.
The deputy minister of natural resources said in a press conference the security of Khor Mor gas field was protected and Dana Gas was unlikely to evacuate the field.
More than five Katyusha rockets were fired at Khor Mor gas field in Sulaimani’s Chamchamal district on Friday in two attacks and Dana Gas was hit in an earlier attack on Thursday, when two people were wounded, the company said.
The gas field came under renewed rocket attack on Saturday.
