Syrian Kurdish politician: Turkey ground attack on northern Syria is very possible

A member of the Central Committee of the Syrian Kurdistani Unity Party (PYKS) said: Turkey's agreement with Sweden and Finland targets the interests of the Kurdistan Workers'Party (PKK).

Referring to Turkey's agreement with Sweden and Finland and its impact on the developments in Syrian Kurdistan, Heval Issa, a member of the Central Committee of the Syrian Kurdistani Unity Party (PYKS), told Kurdpress that: "It seems that this is an agreement that is against the interests of the PKK and not the Kurds of Turkey and Syria."
The agreement was signed in the framework of not supporting and cutting off the economic routes of the PKK. Therefore, this agreement has a great impact on the PKK actions in these countries.
Regarding the US and Russian policy over Turkey attack on Syrian Kurdistan, he said: Until now, the two sides have not given a green light to Turkey to conduct the attack, but the increase in verbal threats and shelling of the contact areas shows Turkey is likely to launch military attacks against the areas where the SDF forces and PYD are present in.
He continued: "It is obligatory for the autonomous administration and the Democratic Union Party (PYD) not to give Turkey an excuse to launch another attack against Syrian Kurdistan. PYD should remove the pictures of (the PKK jailed Leader Abdullah) Ocalan and other PKK leaders and everything that are related to this party in these areas."
