KRG PM, West Azerbaijan governor discuss mutual cooperation

Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian, governor of West Azerbaijan in northwest Iran discussed ways of mutual cooperation with Prime Minister of Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Masrour Barzani in a meeting on Tuesday.

According to IRNA, Motamedian met and held talks with Barzani on Tuesday.
The two sides examined the ways of bolstering bilateral ties, especially trade exchanges and facilitating transportation plus tourism issues based on common interests.
Barzani expressed readiness for developing relations with Iran in fighting terrorism and for economic cooperation.
Speaking with Sadeq Motamedian, Barzani stressed the expansion of all-out relations between KRG and Iran, especially West Azarbaijan.
Meanwhile, Motamedian said that Iran has put on the agenda developing trade ties with neighboring countries.

He also referred to improvement of infrastructure on the common border with neighbors, especially Iraq.
"We are ready to cooperate in the fields of education, agriculture, construction, culture, gas supply and Iranian pilgrims' access to Syria," the Iranian official added in the meeting.
During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on the importance of coordination and cooperation between the two sides to deal with the negative consequences of climate change and the problem of water through access and shared use of water resources.
