HDP representative says PKK must stop armed struggle

Omer Farogh Gregori Oglu, a representative of the People's Democratic Party (HDP), called on the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) to stop the armed struggle.
"People have suffered a lot from wars," Gregori Oglu said at a press conference held in the Turkish parliament building, remembering September 1st as the International Day of Peace.
"War only causes loss and peace causes victory. We also know how Turkey has suffered from war and conflict."
He added: "Peace will not be established where there is a problem, and solutions must be sought for crises. We repeat once again that the conflicts caused by the Kurdish issue must end as soon as possible."
The HDP representative stated that the organizations that are fighting armed battles should lay down their weapons, saying: "The PKK organization, which continues conflicts, should definitely lay down its weapons; And we should finally solve our issues in the Turkish Parliament on the first day of September, the International Day of Peace which is the day of peace. War, death, and bloodshed benefit no one. We are at a time when we have to find a solution for the Kurdish issue."
