Turkish forces shell Syrian government post in Kobani

Turkish forces shelled on Saturday night an outpost of Syrian government forces in Kobani, east of Aleppo.

A military source told North Press, the Turkish forces targeted the post of the government forces in the eastern countryside of Kobani, northern Syria with several shells.

The Turkish forces constantly shell the border strip with Syria, causing displacement and spreading panic among civilians.

In early October, three soldiers of the government forces were killed in Turkish shelling of the eastern countryside of Kobani.

Turkish military escalation against Kobani has been on the rise recently in which populated areas have been targeted more than five times since early 2022, claiming many lives including women and children as well as causing many injuries.

Following the Turkish incursion into northeastern Syria in October 2019, Turkey signed two ceasefire agreements, one with Russia and the other with the US stipulating ceasing all hostilities and the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) 32 km away from the Turkish border.
