Masoud Barzani says his position is necessary for KDP
The reelected president of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, said on Thursday, November 3, it was necessary for him to remain as the party leader in order for the KDP to continue on course.

At the 14th KDP Congress in Duhok, Barzani said his farewell to the congress attendees, in case "death separates me from the party members.”

The KDP leader said he was a Peshmerga and his identity as such was the most sacred thing to him.

He stated that he does want to stay in the leadership position until his death, adding every beginning has an end.

At the 14th KDP Congress Barzani was reelected as the KDP president and Nechirvan Barzani and Masrour Barzani were elected as his deputies.
