PUK expresses readiness to sit down with KDP

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) is prepared to sit down with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) to address the issues and challenges that prevent the normalization of their ties, said the spokesperson on Monday.

PUK official Media cited spokesperson of the Party Soran Jamal regarding the current situation of their relations with the KDP, commenting on the PUK’s viewpoint amid the ongoing political stage.

According to Esta Media Network Jamal stated that the party has different viewpoints from the KDP and that it is willing to engage with them to settle its issues.

“The PUK is prepared to sit down with the KDP today and before tomorrow to address the issues and challenges that prevent the normalization of our ties,” Jamal was quoted as saying.

“Without discussion and understanding, we cannot resolve our issues,” he stressed.

The spokesperson also stated that “the PUK and KDP have different views on the mechanism of governing the Kurdistan Region and its government, enacting the decentralization system, holding elections, the budget, the oil file, and many other issues and mechanisms to serve the people and the government, and embody partnership in governance.”

“These and other issues demand a serious and productive discourse between the two parties, which requires compromise from both sides,” the official continued.
