Iraqi army starts preparations to protect Kurdistan Region borders

Yahya Rasool, the spokesman of the Iraqi military forces, announced: The command of the border forces started working on the implementation of control and protection solutions for the common borders with Iran and Turkey. According to Zaman Press: Yahya Rasool, the spokesman of the Iraqi military forces, announced in a press conference that according to the order of Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, the border command forces were obliged to provide the necessary weapons, equipment and forces to maintain the security of the borders of this country.

Regarding Iraq's relations with its neighbors, he pointed out that Iraq tries to use all its positive relations with its neighbors in the field of protecting the interests of Iraq and the security of neighboring countries, and does not allow Iraqi territory to be used to invade other countries.

On Tuesday last week, the Iraqi government announced the change of a number of senior positions in the Ministry of Interior, including the change of the commander of the border regiment, which happened due to the crisis related to the Iran-Iraq borders.

According to the spokesman of the Iraqi government, Abdul Amir Shamri, the Iraqi Minister of Interior replaced Colonel Mohammad Sokar as the commander of the border regiment, which was previously held by Hamed Hosseini.
