Member says PUK never thinks of Kurdistan region division

A member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) emphasized that his party is not thinking of dividing the Kurdistan Region into two separate parts, one for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the other for the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).

Ghiyas Sorchi told Al-Maaluma news agency that the Kurdistan Region will never be divided into two separate administrations, because the PUK, despite what has happened so far and is currently happening in the region, does not think of such an option at all.

Sorchi added: "the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan has given more than 26 thousand martyrs during the Iraqi regime, and the last martyrs were in the war with the ISIS terrorist group, so it does not seek the division of the Kurdistan region in any way, but at the same time, it is against the lame policies in the region. It will not stand idly by the situation.

He pointed out that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan has boycotted the meetings of the Kurdistan Regional Government due to the uncertainty of Erbil's policies, so Erbil should organize the internal situation of the region and Kurdish delegations should go to Baghdad to solve some issues of common interest.
