Iraqi President, Masrour Barzani meet in Davos

During a meeting on the sidelines of the Davos meeting, Iraqi President and the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region emphasized the need to resolve differences between the ruling parties of the Kurdistan Region.

According to the official statement of the Iraqi President's Office, Abdul Latif Rashid met Masrour Barzani, the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) PM, in Davos.

In this meeting, the latest political and security developments in Iraq were reviewed, and Latif Rashid emphasized the necessity of solidarity and unity of the Iraqi nation in the face of challenges, according to Middle East News.

The statement of the Iraqi presidency added that during this meeting, the "misunderstanding between the Kurdish political forces" was also discussed and the president emphasized the need to focus on solving problems and giving priority to the interests of the region's citizens.

Latif Rashid called for prioritizing national interests in all disputed issues and creating solutions under the country's constitution and emphasized the importance of passing the oil and gas law to achieve justice and transparency in the distribution of national wealth.

Barzani emphasized on the necessity of a serious dialogue to resolve the differences of political forces and the importance of reaching understandings that will strengthen the unity of the Iraqi nation.

The two sides also emphasized the need to reverberate the progress and stability achieved in Iraqi cities in international meetings, including the Davos meeting.
