Ambassador says US seeks to resolve differences with Iran

The US wants to resolve its differences with Iran through diplomatic means, US Ambassador to Iraq Matthew Tueller said on Sunday, January 24.

During a meeting with Iraqi National Security Adviser Qassem al-Araji, Tueller said that differences between Iran and the US will take “great effort” to resolve however, according to a statement released by Araji’s office.

According to NRT the ambassador also expressed his condolences to the families of those who were killed by Islamic State (ISIS) militants in a double suicide bombing in Baghdad’s al-Tayaran Square earlier this week and affirmed the US’ commitment to “confronting terrorism.”

Araji said that Iraq looks forward to continued support from the International Coalition in order to combat remaining ISIS fighters and cells.
