Masrour Barzani meets Kurdistan Region negotiating committee

Members of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) negotiating team met with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, and announced that talks with the Iraqi central government were ongoing to reach an agreement.

According to Kurdistan 24, members of the Kurdistan Region Negotiating Committee met with PM Barzani, on Thursday, January 28, to discuss talks with the Iraqi central government, after returning from Baghdad.

During the meeting, the results and process of the delegation's talks with Iraqi officials on oil and the share of the region's budget in the 2021 Iraqi budget were reviewed.

The head of the delegation, KRG Deputy PM Qubad Talabani, stressed in the meeting that the talks would continue until a deal is made between the region and Baghdad over providing the region's share of budget and its financial rights.

According to the report the Kurdish delegation is scheduled to return to Baghdad next week to resume a new round of talks.
