Turkey jets hit areas in Kurdistan Region

Turkish warplanes bombed targets in Duhok governorate’s Dinarat sub-district, hearing areas near Guahana and Mimber villges on Friday, April 16.

The Turkish jets bombed the area twice with no casualties immediately reported.
According to NRT the bombardment was near residential area, but the extent of the damage is not yet known.
Turkey has been conducting intense military operations in the Kurdistan Region and northern Iraq since June 15.
Ankara claims that the operations are necessary to protect itself from attacks by Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) fighters.
At least twelve civilians have been killed in airstrikes since then.
