KRG litfs travel bans between Kurdistan Region and Iraq

The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Interior on Sunday, May 16, lifted coronavirus-related travel restrictions with governorates in central and southern Iraq.

The decision was implemented in accordance with public health guidelines, the ministry said in a statement.
On March 1, the KRG imposed travel restrictions between the governorates on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
According to the health ministry, there have been 160,530 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region and 4,157 have died from COVID-19.
