Two ISIS members killed in eastern Deir ez-Zor

Two ISIS members were killed during a joint operation by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the International Coalition in a city east of Deir ez-Zor.

Two members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) were killed yesterday in a joint operation by the International Coalition Against Terrorism and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in a small town east of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria.

A military source close to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from the city of Ziban, 50 km east of Deir ez-Zor, told the media that the forces had clashed with ISIS with the support of the International Coalition in Ziban. The clashes led to the killing of two ISIS members while the rest of ISIS members fled away from the scene.

The International Coalition and the SDF have occasionally carried out attacks against ISIS hideouts in the eastern suburbs of Deir ez-Zor.

Also Thursday, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested two members of ISIS, one of whom was the group's top commander, and another member of the group who was killed during clashes between the two sides.
