Turkish Foreign Ministry condemns assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist

The Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned the heinous crime of the assassination and martyrdom of an Iranian nuclear scientist.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement referring to the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh: "We are deeply saddened by the death of an Iranian nuclear scientist in an armed attack in Tehran, the country's capital. We condemn this heinous crime. We offer our condolences to the government of Iran and the family of the deceased."

"In this regard, we hope that the perpetrators of this assassination will be identified as soon as possible and brought to justice," the statement added, continuing to say that "We call on all parties to act in complete calm and moderation, and to refrain from actions that would create tension in the region."
