Kurdistan Region delegation to visit Baghdad to discuss Iraqi government formation

A senior member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) announced that a delegation from the Kurdistan Region will travel to Baghdad next week to discuss political developments and the formation of the future Iraqi government.

According to Shafaq News, Jamal Shokr said: "Efforts are underway to form a high-level delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) to travel to Baghdad based on a common policy and a vision on the Kurds' share of the positions in the next phase, and we hope the delegation will travel to Baghdad next week to meet with all officials and political factions and discuss the formation of the future Iraqi government.
It is to be noted that the deputy speaker of the Kurdistan Region Parliament, Hemen Howrami, announced on Monday that four committees had been formed by Kurdish parties to consult with political movements in Baghdad on the formation of the new Iraqi government.
