The President of the Kurdistan Region stated that the lack of peace and moderation in Iraq has disturbed the situation in the region and the world.

According to Kurdistan 24 TV network, Nechirvan Barzani stated on Monday, May 30, during a speech at the conference of "Peace through Moderation" held by the Dutch "Spark" organization in Erbil that "The world is facing a series of crises and challenges. Peace is now more important than ever. In the crises that the world is facing, peace is at stake."
He said: "Iraq has historically faced danger, war and unrest and wasted a great deal of wealth in this way. Iraq could have become one of the best and most advanced countries in the region and the world by pursuing moderation and peace."
Kurdistan Region president also stated that "the lack of peace and moderation in Iraq has disturbed the situation in the region and the world, and has created wars, destruction. Many tragedies in Iraq and the region have been the result religious and ethnic clashes which have been harmful to the region's peace and stability."
Nechirvan Barzani ultimately said that "Iraq's invasion of Kuwait, the formation of coalitions and the liberation of Iraq and the Second Gulf War and the liberation of Iraq and the emergence of ISIS completely changed the balance of power, politics and interests of countries in the region.
